Book II: The Scrolls of Lemuria
Chapter 5 – The Prophecy of Elara
The Scrolls of Lemuria do not end when the Mylars first receded from the world. Their history continued (as it does even to this very day). In the ancient epoch, when the Children of Mu ruled the world, the scrolls attest that their reign was marked by a golden age of enlightenment, innovation, and profound spirituality. These semi-ethereal beings, born from the union of the Lumenarc Pan and the first woman Lilith, were the [self-proclaimed] epitome of wisdom and power. Their ancients claim that their dominion over Terra was not one of tyranny but of guidance, the benevolent Mylars shaping the world with their unparalleled knowledge and divine inspiration.
That is, of course, a giant pile of hogwash.
Despite their so-called wisdom and power, the Mylars faced an inevitable decline – one I made sure would happen. Their harmonious existence with the planet Terra and the younger race of the Atlanteans/Amorosi could never last forever and although none of the Scrolls will admit it, the Children of Mu’s civilization was as much threatened by my creatures as it was by their own internal discord. Obviously the nefarious beings I introduced to the world (the trolls, leviathans, chupacabras, and even the not-so-bright hyperboreans) didn’t make life easy for the peace-loving Mylars, but I’m here to tell you that even within their own clans they had problems.
Just like the Children of Adam and Alyssa eventually separated into the sea-faring Atlanteans and the forest-loving Amorosi, so too did the Children of Lilith and Pan begin to split.
The majority of the Children of Mu favored the traditions of Lemuria and sought to preserve their purity and wisdom away from the growing complexities and conflicts of the world I was building. As the milennia passed, their bodies evolved – they lost their tails and fur and began to become more ethereal, or day I say alien like?

These “LeMurians’ isolated themselves by building the first planet-ringing ice wall in a desperate bid to protect their culture from the doom and destruction their seers warned them were coming in future ages.
Yet a smaller portion of the Mylars remained in the world at large – these ‘Myans’ gave up their pacifistic ways and briefly fought back against many minions I was using as pawns to create chaos. However, they Mylars were intelligent enough to recognize that even their power could not compete with the ‘progress’ I was making in turning the world at large to my designs, therefore they gave up warfare and instead sought out the hidden places of the world to make their homes. Like their LeMurian brothers, the Myans’ appearance also changed over time…

And so it was that the majority of the Children of Mu moved away from the world at large. Their own Scrolls will attest that this once-great race of Pan’s children gave up their world-dominance and eventually faded away into legend as far as the rest of the planet was concerned. Perhaps this was their desire, perhaps not? Who can say? Only their monuments remain – still standing as silent witnesses to their glory and wisdom…

With the Children of Mu leaving the world stage, the door was opened for another root race to take over the world – that crown would eventually go to the people birthed by Alyssa and Adam. Thus it was that the Atlanteans and their brethren the Amorosi took on the mantle of global leadership.
Both expanded their influence, establishing their rule simultaneously over the vast oceans and lands of Terra – dominating pretty much every continent on the planet with the exception of the land mass you call Africa which was infested with Hyperboreans [I made sure it wasn’t worth their effort to engage in any way with that race of half-breeds because I still had plans for them].
Over time, it was that the cities of Alyssa’s respective peoples that flourished in every local they called home, quickly becoming the premier centers of learning, culture, and spirituality the world over – the most famous of which was Atlantis…

And yet, while the Atlanteans became the most famous of their clans, there was another important group that lived in the forests of the flat Earth – these were the Amorosi – they too thrived. In fact, their historians recorded this golden age of their people as “The Epoch of Peace’ and numerous leaders emerged whose deeds are spoken of with grandeur – perhaps the greatest of these was a seer named Elara.

The stories about Elara are typical dime-store novel stuff. Legends about her claimed that she’d spent her formative years in Lemuria, under the tutelage of Lyra, that renowned sage of the Mylars. When Elara returned back to the forests of Terra, she was said to possess the gift of prophecy, as well as a unique ability to communicate even with the giant silica tree roots from ancient times. Elara’s fame spread, her teachings were discussed far and wide, and she eventually became the preeminent spiritual leader of the Amorosi – traveling around from kingdom to kingdom preaching her ‘good news.’
It was claimed that Elara regularly communicated with Alyssa herself and whether this was true or not, the fact is that she used her influence to ensure that the worship of Alyssa as their primary god continued to grow. Countless more temples honoring the goddess were erected and the forest people began to make regular pilgrimages throughout Terra to ‘follow the path’ of the ever moving Elara.
Elara’s visions and guidance also helped the Amorosi expand their kingdoms to more of the giant forests of the world and she worked tirelessly to help her people protect the greenlands from the many threats as I was busy at work producing.
By the time I’d heard of her, I was already tired of her, but she was so far down my to-do list that I’d have overlooked her had she not made a singular prophecy that caught my attention…
The Reed of the Shattered Veil
When Firmament’s veil is torn and rent,
The skies will cry, the stars lament.
From Adam’s line, a reed shall rise,
To challenge gods with mortal ties.In shadows deep, where demons tread,
A hero born to lift the dread.
The Black One shall quake with fear,
For unity’s call, the end draws near. The clouds will tremble, heavens split,
As clans unite, their fires lit.
The reed shall wield a light so bright,
To shatter darkness, reclaim the night.Through broken skies, his path will weave,
A tale of hope, for those who believe.
Death’s schemes will meet their doom,
When this prophecy’s Light dispels the gloom.
Elara’s [in]famous reed bespoke of a future in which the Firmament Itself would be torn asunder and it was clear it was about me! That prophecy hit far too close to home. From then on I made a point of getting rid of her!
In the end Elara wound up helping me – sacrificing herself to save her people against a secret threat I’d created that was at play from one of the largest forest clans. It was a masterful little ruse and I’d been unwinding that plot over time to have a bit of fun at the Amorosi’s expense, even using a pawn named Malakar for the job. Unfortunately for me Elara sniffed out the plot and unraveled my plans before they were ready. Unfortunately for her, it cost Elara her life. [I guess the fortune was mine in the end, neh?]

And so went Elara.
Yet her prophecies remained – and I knew that eventually I’d have to deal with them.
As for the rest of the Amorosi’s history, it’s filled with a bunch of other stuff that, frankly, ain’t all that interesting. Rather than bore you with it, let’s move on to that other bunch of Adam’s children that had a lot more going on.
