Book I: Genesis Revisited
Chapter 4: Adam and…Lilith?
“Mankind?” The God once known as Lucifer but now calling himself El was confused by my proposal to create a new species of creatures.
“Dost thou not want to rule Illyria…with your father Zebub?” I whispered, knowing I was walking a dangerous line, and to keep my master from growing angry, I explained. “Let we Elohim make Mankind in our own divine image. Then we can use them to overwhelm Michael’s army and destroy A’H as well.”
El pondered only for a moment, before a smile covered his visage as the implications of my idea sank in for him. Then, together, assuming a common form, the God El and I fashioned the first human.

“Let us name him Adam.” I suggested slyly.
El laughed long at the suggestion — for Adamas was the name that A’H had called the first of the stellarone spirits when we were all together in the heavenly dimension that was Illyria, back in a time that was now countless eons in the past.
Indeed, El was giddy with excitement as he looked upon the man Adam; yet my lord’s amusement quickly ended when it became apparent that the human we had created was naught but a lifeless being.

Ever at the ready with ideas to save my master embarrassment — and to protect myself from the El’s ire — I was quick to recommend, “Rather than simply borrow the name, let us actually fill this man we created with his namesake soul your father captured from Illyria – the stellarone Adamas floats beneath The Firmament. Surely that soul will bring our man life.”
I should point out that this was in truth a total lie – I had no idea where the original stellarone named Adamas was – it could have been destroyed during one of the many wars that raged in the heavens during Lucifer’s rebellion or it could have been floating somewhere in the universe of the Middle Planes that were beyond the Firmament. Since my senses could penetrate the dome, I had no way of knowing. But what I did know for sure was that the stellarone Adamas was NOT in our section of the Middle Plane – it was NOT trapped inside The Firmament with us – for, as you may recall, I had long ago cataloged every stellarone that was in my section of this universe and Adamas was not one of them. However none of that mattered right now, for something else I knew was that Lucifer did NOT know what I knew. Nor did he even care. He just wanted to BELIEVE in the lie because it sounded good – and Lucifer’s desire is all I needed to transform my lie into the truth – at least in his mind.
I’ll admit, it didn’t quite go as easy as I’m making it sound. At first El sneered at me – angered to be caused to remember the countless souls that began their life in Illyria – a world he longed to destroy yet was impotent to even know how to get back to it. Thankfully, when I explained how our abuse of Adamas might cause irreparable harm to A’H’s creations, El was all too eager to do exactly as I suggested.

The result was immediate — Adam, the first of your race, took his first breath and knew Life!
“One is hardly enough?” I offered.
God agreed. “How do you suggest we make it reproduce?”
“The answer to that can be found in the work of your hands, my Lord. Observe your prior creations – notice how all the other creatures pair up. Let us give man a mate as well.” And trying to be casual I offered, “If you will allow me, master?”
I purposefully took longer to create the second human on my own so that Zebub’s son would think I was struggling. I even grew some crazy hair to make it look like I didn’t know what I was doing to further sell my lie.

Annoyed at me, El quickly jumped in to finish the task – crafting the first female of your race. His work wasn’t as good as my finished product would have been but alas, such is life.
“And what shall you name this WoMan?” I asked, already knowing the answer.
“Lilith.” El played along with the earlier joke — using the name that A’H had used for the second of the stellarones. As before, I had no idea where the real stellarone named Lilith was, but I pretended I had the namesake soul ready when Lucifer and I forced another captured soul inside our newest creation. Lilith came to life just like Adam and I could immediately sense she was a female partner capable of producing offspring so I was eager to get them to mate, but Lucifer had other ideas.
After that long day of creation [I believe it was our sixth ‘official’ day if you’re still keeping track], Lucifer demanded we take a day to ‘rest.’ Since there was no arguing with ‘EL’ when he was in one of his moods, I gave him time to himself. He went off towards a nearby lake mumbling something about needing a ‘sab-bath’ to cool his breeches.
Whilst my master was away, I studied Adam and Lilith. On the surface they seemed like they would do nicely for my breeding experiments. I anxiously awaited El’s return so we could move our project forward and when he finally came back I quickly commanded our humans to mate.
Unfortunately things didn’t go as planned – when we told Adam and Lilith to breed, the man was all too happy to comply with our orders, but the woman was stubborn.

Lillith refused to submit to Adam’s dominance and wanted to first talk about sharing control in their relationship [I guess some things never change, huh?]. When Adam scoffed at the idea of talking and instead tried to force himself on the woman, Lilith instead escaped his clutches and ran away.
Although this charade was rather amusing to watch, when the woman deserted Adam I was sure that God would destroy her. As it turned out, my master’s spirit often tired of my little experiments before they reached completion and this was one such occasion — and so it was that Lilith escaped with her life.
Lucifer chose to return to the underworld where he felt more at home, whilst I was left to adjust my plans.
I kept a secret tab on Lilith’s whereabouts, but for a time left her be. As for the man, to keep Adam’s mind off his failure with his mate, I kept him busy by asking him to come up with a ‘name’ for all of the animals, fish, and plants that ‘God’ had created for him.
For my part, I got busy thinking about what I did wrong – why didn’t Lilith and Adam obey my wishes to breed when all the other creatures on the planet had done so? Eventually I concluded that the reason I could not force the humans to do my bidding was because, unlike the other creatures, Adam and Lilith had souls that were derived from stellarones – and when A’H created the stellarones as a heavenly host It gave each of those souls a ‘Free Will.’ We lumenarcs were blessed with the same ‘gift’ and we used that power when we made the choice to rebel against A’H [I mean really – couldn’t A’H have seen that one coming?]. Since the stellarones were not as smart as we lumenarcs we didn’t bother to recruit them to our rebellion back then, but they still had the same will power we did and I could see now that A’H’s little ‘gift’ was only going to cause me problems going forward.
To try to get ahead of these challenges I started experimenting on some of the souls Zebub had captured from Illyria that were trapped on our side of The Firmament. Unfortunately I had little success in removing the unwanted ‘Free Will’ component from any of them — discovering that if I separated a soul from its free will, the soul was destroyed [or at least I assumed as much since the soul disappeared from this dimension].
“Perhaps the best I can do is to try to warp these souls?” I said to myself, while strolling around the wild lands of Terra – a world that had come a long way during the past few billion years. [If nothing else, Gaia proved to be quite a trooper, huh?]
Having grown fond of Gaia’s world, I allowed myself to soak in the pleasure of the landscape she created as I pondered further about what to do next. Surrounded by fruit trees, I plucked one of the red orbs that were hanging everywhere around me; Adam had named this fruit Apple and he seemed rather fond of them, so I took a bite into the flesh – it was tart but sweet. I liked it immediately – then proceeded to eat the entire orchard.

My desire sated, I leaned back against one of the trees and looked at the cores that now littered the landscape, “Perhaps I can make use of these?” But then brushing the thought away, “Of course I can. But I must focus on the more urgent task at hand. To control the stellarum souls I will torture them – just as Zebub and Lucifer did to my brethren and I. Only when the souls bend to my will, can I insert them into my humans – that will ensure they do as I desire.”
My experiment worked and soon I had a host of tortured stellarones who wanted nothing more than to serve me if it meant their pain would stop [actually I had no intention of stopping their pain but I didn’t tell them that]. Pleased with myself, I surveyed the scene on Terra — with the God El’s presence still in Illusia, I took it upon myself to make some decisions.
At this time, I hadn’t yet become the master genomist I would eventually be, and my ability to clone was still millennia away, thus it was still imperative that my humans produce offspring on their own in order for my plans to move forward. I knew I had two fertile creatures, but unfortunately they still refused to breed together – so I did the next best thing: I reached out to the other lumenarcs who’d been sent back to Terra with me from Illusia and promised them a host of delights if they helped me.
You might be wondering – what were the other lumenarcs sent by Lucifer doing with themselves? The answer is not much. Oh sure there were some who tried to follow the Evil One’s orders to try to destroy the planet in order to help Zebub break free – and for their part they caused a lot of pain and injury to Gaia. I’ll admit that I may have had a part in Gain’s troubles – to keep some of the more ‘brutish’ lumenarcs busy I gave them the idea to ‘stripmine’ a bit of earth’s beauty – particularly as relates to those giant silica formations and especially those silica trees.
By now those massive arbols had grown so tall they were approaching close to the Firmament – and I wasn’t about to have any of them potentially penetrate the dome.

I mean, can you imagine what would have happened if they did? I know you don’t know the answer and quite frankly I didn’t want to find out either – there was no way I was risking Gaia’s silica trees breaking the dome and fulfilling my promise to Lucifer and Zebub. Why in God’s green earth would I have wanted Zebub to be released from Illusia? No way, no how. That Evil spirit was fine where It was – far away from me. Remember, I had my own plans for this universe and none of them involved helping my masters get what they wanted. My plans involved helping old Azazel get what I wanted. As a result, Gaia’s silica giants had to go.
Thankfully I had plenty of help from my lumenarc friends who were all too happy to keep themselves occupied by felling those giant trees and gouging massive holes in the earth’s surface. I may have told them that by abusing Gaia in this manner it would ‘surely’ open numerous portals to Illusia for Zebub to escape through. This was, of course, a blatant lie, but as my lumenarc brethren didn’t have any better ideas to help our Evil Lord they were stuck following my orders. Which they did quite nicely – aggressively destroying many of Gaia’s most beautiful silica creations and leaving on stumps and gorges in their wake.

As for Gaia herself, you needn’t have worried about her. Oh sure, my brother lumenarcs caused her a bit of pain, but in the end, they really didn’t accomplish much – Gaia persevered in spite of their abuse. More importantly though by getting rid of Gaia’s silica trees they helped ensure that The Firmament remained intact and that no portals to hell were created for Zebub to escape through. Truth be told, I wasn’t surprised they failed – most of them were losers anyway.
Meanwhile, I still had my own experiments to get on with and I needed a bit of help there too – that meant I had to ask for a favor.
